How to motivate your students to learn

There are various kinds of students you will come across as teachers during the course of your career. Some students will be lazy, some will be disorganized, and at times some will be completely reluctant to learn. Offering the best B.Ed. Course in South 24 Parganas has helped us collate some tips teachers can find helpful if they want to learn the art of motivating their students to learn effectively.

Encourage them

Sometimes students who seem reluctant or lazy might just be discouraged or frustrated, some may be struggling with learning disabilities. It is very important for students to be encouraged for them to feel motivated. They must realize that you have faith on them to accomplish a task. Provide one-on-one help to them if required. Analyse their challenges and be in constant touch with the parents to ensure you are all on the same page. A little bit of encouragement can go a long way. Make sure you communicate with other teachers also to let them know if a child needs special attention. It is also very important to acknowledge their little achievements and successes. Keep reminding them the work they did was great and repeat that they can do it all and even better.

Make them do the work

Making them work will in turn make them learn. Ask them to prepare questions they seem fit from a certain chapter you recently taught, make the students do self-correction, let them check their test papers. Make sure students are not just listening to you teach during classes, instead make them do the reading and you go on to explain the part after. Including them in these little processes will help their interest to grow and they will be more inclined to know more about the topics you teach in class.

Less homework, more productivity

Remember, through our top B.Ed. Course in South 24 Parganas, we always want to raise awareness about the importance of right amount of homework. More homework does not necessarily mean more work being done. Make sure the homework you give them are concise and to the point and interesting to students. Homework should never feel like a daily chore the student has to do every day. Only when they find the homework interesting, students will be more productive and learning will be efficient.

Make them more organised

Being organised is a skill that students will find helpful not only during their student life but in every aspect later on in life. Help them create study routines they can stick to, teach them to keep their books, notes and worksheets organised properly. Being organised will help students retain much more information and will make what they are learning effective.
