Keep calm and avoid burnout

Teaching is a noble profession. No matter how much we praise the profession, it will not be enough. For us teachers, the love for what we do keeps us fuelled to deal with gruelling demands of the job. As the best B.Ed College in Kolkata, we understand that the demanding nature of our work can lead to eventual burnout if we are not careful about taking care of ourselves and our minds. If we are not keeping our minds fresh and healthy we will not be able to contribute towards shaping the future of the nation. As the best B.Ed College in Kolkata, we have some suggestions for you to help avoid burnout.

Mind the hours

Always remember, not working during off hours is not selfish. You deserve to have your own time. Maintaining a work-life balance is the most essential thing to ensure. When you are off working hours, make it a point to leave work behind and focus on other aspects of your life. This might sound rude and impossible to achieve at first but believe us, this will be the best thing you do for yourself.

Work smarter, not harder

Plan your deliverables. When you know what you have to achieve, working towards it is easier. If you follow a schedule or have a to-do list to follow during your work day, you will not find yourself wrapping up your work on time and not going through myriad tasks at hand and you don’t know how to wrap up any of it.

Unwind

No matter how caught up you seem, or how tight your schedule seem day after day, make sure you take time off and take your deserved breaks. Go for that holiday you have been planning, enjoy that day out during the week with your friends or family, and go for that shopping trip you have been planning for days. Remember, taking breaks is essential and would allow you to get back to work with a fresh mind.

Fix your sleep schedule

Even if it feels like it is not a big deal, abundant sleep is essential. Make sure you get 6-8 hours of sleep regularly. Switch off that web series you have been binge watching at night, close that book you have been reading and go off to sleep early. You will not believe the benefits of good sleep in your life.

As educators and as the B.Ed College in Kolkata, we know and we appreciate the hard work you do. You are important, you are special, you are essential in our society. Make sure you take care of yourself and stay energized. To know more about our courses and offerings, visit jse.org.in/contact.php
